Language Matters January 2012: A New Year for Translation

translation language service Dear Language Friend,

Happy New Year! Our team is looking forward to an exciting year which will bring new opportunities to develop our potential, and in turn, the potential of our clients. This year LingoStar will celebrate its 8th birthday as a full-service translation company. We are very proud of our achievements in 2011 and feel we have proven our translation skills to many regular and new clients. Our staff and our network of loyal language professionals have always been and will always be our key to success. We want to express our thanks to them for all their hard work!

translation language service The New Website!

LingoStar is pleased to announce the launch of our new website at www.lingo-star.com. One of the goals of the new website is to improve client-orientation and provide useful information that is accessible to all. For example, to new immigrants to Canada whose documents have to meet Canada Immigration’s language requirements for certified translations. Also, it features widgets linked to the company’s social media pages (Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn), as well as an interactive blog. Regular and new clients will be able to access informative content on the translation industry thanks to a brand new FAQ section and glossary.

translation language service A short review of 2011

Through successful marketing campaigns focusing on clients' language needs, our client base has grown by 46% in 2011 compared to 2010. The base of that success is our ability to provide professional language services to clients in nearly all time zones and in over 80 languages, including all major European and Asian languages as well as rare languages such as Kazakh, Kannada, Georgian and more! This is due to our ever-expanding database of excellent language professionals, who are subject to continued evaluation processes and quality control.

translation language service What was new in 2011?

This past year LingoStar completed some exciting localization projects in the field of website translation, video game and software applications for IPhone and Android smart phones. Localization involves translating text to appeal to a specific market by using the local terminology and taking the nuances of cultural differences into account. We make great efforts to ensure that our translated text is properly localized depending on your target, and we have created a creative brief form that is formulated to get the information we need from you to pass on to the translator for their reference.

translation language service Here are some examples of our projects from 2011:

  • We provided translation and voiceover services to a world-renown media company for production of a popular video game into 10 European languages and cultures, making sure that each foreign language script was authentic in its local references and idioms.

  • We provided research and translation services to a client who was targeting multiple markets with a new marketing and entertainment tool - the Facebook App. The translation had to be localized to meet all the appropriate internationalization requirements for 14 foreign languages and cultures.

  • We provided translation services to a local hotel client advertising their website content to foreign tourist markets in 4 of the most spoken languages for foreign travelers to Vancouver.

  • We provided translation services to a government agency for their website content into Canadian French so they could broaden their appeal nation-wide.

translation language service What is our goal for 2012?

Our goal for 2012 is to improve our business relationships and expand our client base, while maintaining the outstanding level of service we have shown to our clients in Canada and the USA. LingoStar already provides full-service high-quality translations at competitive prices and fast turnaround times. Here are some other ways in which we plan to improve our business:

  • Continue to approach each client request as individual and professional. The personal contact is highly appreciated and ensures a close client relationship resulting in repeat business and successful projects.
  • Send our clients a Free Quote within 24 hours of their request, unless complex research is required.
  • Continue to provide our clients discounts from 5% to 45% depending on the volume of the document, nature of the text, and complexity of the project. Check our website for special promotions: www.lingo-star.com. You can also follow us on Twitter and Facebook.
  • Guarantee long-term discounts to our loyal clients, as well as occasional deals for translation work. For example, we are currently offering free translation of 200 words for projects valued over $1,000 (before tax).
  • Continue to learn and adopt new methods and trends in the language industry, including implementation of the latest software that handles terminology, consistency of translations and cost efficiency.
