Canada is the second largest country in the world; it is situated to the north of the United States of America. The densely populated areas border with the USA. The population Canada is more than 31 million inhabitants and Canada spreads over about 10.000.000 km˛.

The greater Vancouver area, with its 1.8 million inhabitants, is the biggest city in the province of British Columbia and in Western Canada. Vancouver is situated in a relatively flat area known as the Lower Mainland between the Pacific Ocean and Coastal Mountains, It offers a great variety of outdoor activities within reach – golf, cycling, hiking, sailing, skiing, snowboarding, rollerblading. It is a very multicultural and cosmopolitan city that has a big Asian community – about 45%. You can hear many languages spoken in the city streets while a great number of people come to Vancouver to learn English. They are attracted by a lower cost of study and stay than in the USA or United Kingdom, great city atmosphere, stunning mountains and ocean and friendly Canadians. They will not laugh at your accent, they will talk to you!

Apart from the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoor life that can be reached in 15 minutes, Vancouver offers an interesting urban architecture, a great choice of restaurants, shopping centers, safe nightlife and entertainment. If you become homesick, you can always visit a cultural centre, restaurant or a club where your native language is spoken and your type of food is being served.
