Foreign Language

As we tailor each course to the specific needs of every client, the course will always differ in terms of content and specialization. Once you register, we will carry out an analysis of your requirements. Based this we will determine your language level and recommend a suitable study method.

We will customize a one-on-one course or a course for a small group (maximum of 5 students) for you. The course framework will depend on your personal requirements and it will be possible to adapt the course and your personal language program depending on your progress and any newly developed requirements.

If you work in a particular field, we will customize your course to match your needs for specialized terminology, grammar use or communication skills in a certain subject field. You can combine general language use with various expert elements.

General Language Course

This course is aimed at acquisition and improvement of your foreign language skills and the achievement of your personal language goals. It can be customized for all levels. The focus of this course is: conversation, building up vocabulary, grammar structures, listening and understanding of the spoken and written word, idiomatic use, reading and writing.

If you need to focus on grammar, your personal tutor will tailor the course to grammar practice. If you are seeking to improve your conversational skills, we will design a course that concentrates on the enrichment of your vocabulary and better pronunciation. Our goal is to make your foreign language fluent and mistake-free in all the mentioned areas.

Specialized Language Course: Business

Depending on your specific requirements we will customize the course so that within a short period of time you will be able to communicate with your business partners, and become confident in business negotiations and company presentations.

In role play exercises you will practice the use of specialized terminology from your subject field (e.g. finance, banking, medical, technical), learn to read professional publications or write articles, acquire presentation techniques, telephone manner, business correspondence, customer service standards and many more. The main focus is on the active usage of acquired terminology in real life, both in the spoken and written form.

Specialized Language Course: Internet

The Internet has become an important part of our lives and business. If you often surf the Internet and have difficulty with foreign language written texts, this special language module is made just for you!

It is aimed at searching for relevant foreign language information on the Internet and applying it to your profession. Your personal tutor will assist and give advice on how to retrieve relevant foreign language written information, analyze it, and apply it at work or for fun. This module will significantly improve your foreign language reading skills and the understanding of foreign language written materials.

Specialized Language Course: Culture

If you have an interest in culture, we will customize your course so you learn more about the culture, history and traditions of the countries whose language you are learning. Your personal tutor will introduce a variety of topics from your areas of interest.

General English

English Live! Course

The English Live! course is aimed at acquisition and improvement of your General English language skills and achievement of your personal language goals. It can be customized for all levels. The focus of this course is on conversation, building up vocabulary, grammar structures, listening and understanding of the spoken and written word, idiomatic use of English, reading and writing.

As we tailor each course to specific needs of every client, the English Live! course will always differ in terms of content and specialization. If you need to focus on English grammar, your personal tutor will tailor the course to grammar practice. If you are seeking to improve your conversational skills, we will design a course that concentrates on the enrichment of vocabulary and better pronunciation. This also applies to any of the other skill areas that the course involves. Our goal is to make your English fluent and mistake-free in all the aforementioned areas.

Uniquely Tailored Courses

Once you register, we will carry out an analysis of your requirements. Based on our evaluation, we will determine your language level and recommend a suitable study method. We will customize a General English one-to-one course or a course for a small group. We will determine your language goals and send you a personal language program. Depending on your specific requirements we will include Business, Sports or other activities in your course. The course framework will depend on your direct personal needs but later it will be possible to adapt the course and your personal language program depending on your progress and newly arisen needs. You can either attend the general language course English Live! or add specialized modules that combine English learning with other activities.

We recommend that you sign up for the specialized modules that are exchangeable per week. For example: you sign up for an 8-week English Live! course of General English and in addition, you add specialized modules per week; e.g. 2 weeks of Business English, 2 weeks of English and Sports and 2 weeks of English and Culture. The specialized modules can be added to the entire length of the course or just to a certain number of weeks. Please contact us if you have any specific queries.

In addition to the English Live! General English course, we offer specialized modules tailored exactly to your needs. These can be added at an extra charge to the general language course English Live!. We have a wide range of specialized and customized modules.

Naturally, English will always be the major part of every specialized program but some of the lessons may happen on a golf course, in a museum or at a business networking event rather than in a classroom. If you work in a particular field, we will customize your course to match your needs for a specialized terminology, grammar use or communication skills in a certain subject field. You can combine various elements in your course, it just depends on you!

The given programs are just examples of activities that you can include in your language program. If you have a wish for a special activity, we will include it into your learning program and tailor your course accordingly. The requirements of each client are very individual and therefore here you will find a basic overview of our specialized modules. However if you, for example, wish to attend a special event in Vancouver in order to practice your English in real life while being accompanied and supported by your personal tutor, we will arrange this for you.

English Live! Business

Depending on your specific requirements we will customize the course so that within a short period of time you will be able to communicate with your business partners, become confident in business negotiations and company presentations. The vocabulary practice can include role playing and learning phrases from company presentations, telephone manner, administration and business correspondence, banking, contracts or negotiations. The main focus is on the active use of acquired terminology in real life, both in the spoken and written form.

If you wish, this course can include establishing business contacts through networking. Thanks to our knowledge of the Canadian market, we can accommodate visits to business events where managers and business owners of Vancouver companies meet and network in order to expand their contact database and develop business activities.

We can also assist you in finding Canadian companies in your area of business and explore opportunities to do business with them. Networking

English Live! Culture

If you have an interest in culture, we will arrange visits to cultural establishments in Vancouver and surroundings. Your personal tutor will take you to museums, galleries, exhibitions, cultural events, festivals and other events to practise spoken English and pronunciation. We know the cultural scene in Vancouver well and we will advise you on events and arrange tickets to venues and places of interest to you. While visiting cultural events you will meet native Canadians and practice speaking English. The Canadians are very welcoming and friendly people and they enjoy talking to foreigners. Naturally, your personal tutor will be on hand to support your English communications.

English Live! Trips

Basically, you can enjoy any cuisine ranging from Japanese, Thai, Chinese to Cambodian and Vietnamese. Combine your English lessons with enjoyable food in a French or Greek restaurant while communicating English with your personal tutor! You will easily pick up conversational phrases and next time you will be able to communicate on your own without the tutor’s help. As part of this specialized module, we can introduce you to the burgeoning Canadian wine making industry and offer tours of great Canadian wineries.
