What is Interpreting?
Spoken translation, on-site translation, conference translation or simultaneous translation are terms often used when referring to interpretation. Interpretation is a spoken translation between two languages in conversations between two or more people.
The interpreter's job is to communicate a message effectively, quickly and accurately. The interpreter is neutral and bound by a confidentiality agreement. He or she is a language-cultural communicator who can provide you with useful information about a foreign country and culture. Interpreters are highly skilled individuals, often working under enormous pressure.
Simultaneous Interpreting
Simultaneous interpreting is interpretation performed mainly at conferences. It is often referred to as simultaneous translation, conference translation or live translation. The correct term is simultaneous interpretation or simultaneous interpreting. Conference interpreting is carried out by highly specialized conference interpreters who work in teams of 3 or 2 from an interpreting booth.
